Dasypodidae, the Armadillo, (mamal, family Dasypodidae) is the subject of this artwork

Close to the earth and to nature, the armadillo is for Norbert Fleischer a fitting symbol of his archaic, magical work.
As in others of his works, here the materials are common, plain, and simple found items.

Cardboard, papier-mâché, wax and crepe as well as egg cartons, paper rolls and scotch tape ...

Out of this, surpringly individual armadillos are made despite the fact that they are mass produced

Thus each individual is a self-contained sculpture with its own distinctive character

At the same time they can be both, a couple or a big family – and some day a gang or pack of...

The emphatically simple materials and working with pre-existing forms/shapes deliberately tie in with ...
Armadillo, the pack, - a work in progress - expresses a wide range of contradictions.
While each individual armadillo/object is a sculpture in its own right, the ensemble is a work in progress.

A number of prototypes – the primordial family – will be shown in the coming exhibition

Bit by bit the artist will manufacture further Armadillos till the pack is complete

From the 1th of June until the 19th of July 2007 the Kassel artist Stanislaus Szypura (STACHO) will be exhibiting his new project [pAR_cOURS_pAR_aRT 100 DAYS 200 PICTURES in the new gallery "PICANT" .

During the summer of 2007 STACHO provide a wealth of interesting views into his extensive works at 6 places of art in Kassel. The multi-faceted of his methaphorical world will find there equivalent in the special exhibitions space. Each show room, which is featured to a [place of art], is in a relation with the paintings of STACHO. Often people get on the spur of a moment, a touch of dialogue with the pictures - undesigned.

The project [pAR_cOURS_pAR_aRT 100 DAYS 200 PICTURES] is comparable with a stumbling block, which demands a moment of attention from viewers...I´ts an experiment, meet the art of STACHO. in a extraordinary situation.

The exhibition is taking place in the gallery PICant [place of art II], above the "Stadt-Café" ,from the 1th of june until the 19th of july 2007. Selected topic areas are the cafe its self and another three rooms in the gallery with groups of work of beeing human and landscapes.

It´s due to the initative of Susann and Dirk Kapusta, that rooms above the "Stadt-Café" could be transformed to a [place of art] this summer. Since more than 2 years happens different exhibitions of art in the "Stadt-Café".

Since the public has been paying more and more attention to exhibitions and on the parts of the artists a increasing demand of exclusive areas for space - the gallery PICant in the "Treppenstraße" will become a permanent exhibition [place of art] and a studio for artists.

For the past 30 years, Stanislaus Szypura has mainly focused on fine art. Since 1990 he has worked mainly as a painter with emphasis on oil painting.Further media are drawings and gouaches.

The formal means he employs have their origins in the classical modern era and in the manifestations of this style from the forties through to the sixties. The discovery of the individual which Renaissance, Mannerism and Romantic Periods turned into a subject of art in different ways, forms the spiritual background to his work. A further focal point of his involvement in the fine arts is the radical positioning of the human being in the centre of his work.

The conscious decision to use an established traditional framework such as painting was borne out of the passionate need to understand and give expression to the nature of subjectivity in its concrete manifestation of spirit and soul. Subjectivity (e.g. creativity, imagination, individuality, spontaneity, etc.) to him is the central power of art. The value of humanity in its multiple dimensions and its timelessness is the motif for endless play.

Painting provides him with new, exciting and valid experiences in the above sense. This is particularly true of experiences pertaining to the arena of the empty square. Painting is therefore currently the medium best suited to his intentions.

is the regional response of the artist, who lives in Kassel, to the "documenta12" which regional contribute this year.
In the last 30 years Stanislaus Szypura evolved his arts without puplic in Kassel - he first published in 2005. The works include more than 2000 oil paintings and countless drawings and gouaches.
This works are divided into three main areas: the multidimensionality of being human, abstraction, and landscapes.
The broad range of his artistic influence will be displayed in Summer 2007 at various art locales in Kassel.
The spontaneity of the artist will allow for unprecedented dialog with readings, performances or installation  art at the place of issue. Born at 1954 in Kassel first Stanislaus Szypura start with university training to be a high school teacher at the the Kassel university, which he gave up in favour of painting.
